Growth is the big theme of this year’s Conference, and our programme is designed to help you achieve it—both commercially and professionally. We’ll have keynotes from Tim Harford, economist, author and host of the popular Radio 4 show More or Less; author and Waterstones Children’s Laureate Frank Cottrell-Boyce; and communications guru Lewis Iwu. Leaders from across the publishing spectrum include Nosy Crow’s Kate Wilson, Granta’s Bella Lacey and Sage’s Karen Phillips.
We’ll be covering a wide range of hot topics including changes to the social media landscape, with results of our recent member survey and views from Bluesky’s Rose Wang; and the impact of AI on publishing and copyright with the help of tech gurus Ed Newton-Rex and George Walkley and policy expert Will Crook of Publishers’ Licensing Services. You’ll get practical tips for online sales from World of Books CEO and ex-Amazon leader Dan Mucha and guidance on best practice in important areas like accessibility and sustainability—especially in light of new EU legislation.
IPG Conferences are renowned for their case studies of success, and this one will welcome masterclasses from diverse independent publishers, including Rob Burleigh of Burleigh Dodds and Myles Howard of Haymarket Books.
We’re particularly pleased to be dedicated much of the Spring Conference to helping you become an even more professional publisher. We’ll have expert-led workshops on leadership, management, confidence and self-belief, and a guide to building neuro-inclusive working environments that make the most of everyone’s talent.
Other Conference themes include subscriptions, metadata, publishing’s latest tech solutions and workplace wellbeing. There’s so much more besides, so do explore the full line-up of sessions and speakers.
On top of our Conference programme there will be brilliant networking opportunities over tea, coffee and cake throughout the two days, plus a drinks reception and dinner on the first night and ‘Bring a book breakfasts’ to help you get to know fellow members. You’ll also have the chance to meet publishing’s top suppliers and service providers in our Exhibitors Zone, including our gold sponsor Ingram Content Group.
