What does the ongoing tariff war mean for independent publishers? The IPG’s trade publishing correspondent Will Atkinson is joined by Publiship’s Gerard Lyons to discuss some of the answers. They explain what it’s like at the coal face of international sales and distribution at the moment and set out some of the practical things publishers can do to mitigate risk and prepare for any future disruption. 2pm: How to Run Brilliant Campaigns
Marketing and publicity can make all the difference between the success and failure of books. This session on effective campaigns in both comes from Quarto’s campaigns director Viviane Basset, who sets out how publishers should plan strategies, prioritise targets and execute well. A taster for new full-length training coming soon from the IPG, it will have pointers for all independents, whatever their budget

3.30pm: Acting on Accessibility
With the European Accessibility Act just weeks away, all publishers urgently need to ensure they are compliant—but finding the right approach to remediating backlist content can be hard. Michael Johnson of Benetech gives an overview of best practices, while Eileen Reilly of Princeton University Press discusses compliance strategies. Tyler Carey of Westchester Publishing Services UK moderates the session, and his colleague Julie Willis adds examples of how publishers are preparing for the Act. There will also be time for audience questions and discussion
