1. How can you help independent publishers become better businesses in 2020?

Everyone in the industry needs to know what’s going on in the book world, and how others are coping—not only with the everyday challenges of publishing better books better, but also how they are responding to exceptional circumstances like the current Covid-19 pandemic. BookBrunch offers subscribers a fantastic insight into the book industry and the people within it, and is essential reading for anyone waiting to keep in touch with all the news and views in publishing on a daily basis.

2. Beyond the coronavirus crisis, what is the biggest issue and the biggest opportunity in your part of the publishing world at the moment?

The biggest issue is the economic wellbeing of everyone in the industry. This is always a challenge, and never more so than now.  But the opportunity is that companies are having to get to grips with publishing in a virtual world, something which I believe will stand us all in good stead when things begin to return to ‘normal’.

3. What are you most looking forward to about the IPG's virtual Spring Conference in June?

Being in touch again with many people I would normally see in person at industry events that have had to be cancelled or postponed! So well done to the IPG for moving their conference online, enabling members to have access to their annual dose of vital information and networking opportunities.
