19 December

Today we're hearing from our Chief Executive, Bridget Shine, to see what she'll be gifting, reading and hoping to get this Christmas!

There’s No Such Thing As An Easy Job (Bloomsbury Publishing) by Kikuko Tsumura is one that I’m looking forward to reading.

I’ve also got down on my list ‘A History of the Universe in 21 Stars (and 3 imposters)’ (Welbeck Publishing) but I’m going to have to wait until the March publication for that.

Re-reading The Night Before Christmas is my all-time favourite. I am transported back to my childhood and feel the anticipation and excitement of Christmas. Growing up in Jamaica meant I had to suspend belief about Santa coming down a chimney in a snowy landscape of course!

I have a family who love to cook so most of them will be getting recipe books, one of which is ‘Around the World in 80 Food Trucks’ (Lonely Planet).

I recently watched a documentary about the Scottish climber Hamish MacInnes who said ‘The Magic and Mystery of Tibet’ (Patianos Classics) had influenced him hugely. gifting it to someone who I hope will enjoy reading it. And I’ll get to read it too!
