Job description

Foreign Rights Manager

Job Location: London, UK

The Quarto Foreign Rights Department is looking for a proactive, efficient and commercially minded publishing professional interested in international rights and co-editions to join our London-based team, in order to further develop our adult business in the Chinese speaking markets.

A determined, positive and reliable salesperson, you will have outstanding communication, sales and negotiation skills. You will know how to maintain and build superb customer relationships and have the commercial awareness to identify sales opportunities and close deals. Fluency in English is a must; additional languages – ideally Mandarin Chinese – are highly desirable. You will need to be organized, and to work well both autonomously and as part of a team. You will enjoy a fast-paced environment and have the flexibility to adapt to changing business requirements.

The role is based in our central London office (government guidelines permitting).

Skills and experience required:

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Outstanding numeracy and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in publishing/foreign rights.
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects and priorities.

If you feel you meet the above requirements, we would love to hear from you. Please send a full CV and letter of application to Marion Serre [email protected] We will respond to candidates shortlisted for interview.

Candidates with other languages or experience levels are welcome to submit an application. Quarto Foreign Rights is a dynamic, multi-lingual team always interested in meeting you to discuss your career in foreign rights. Candidates for roles at all levels, from internships up to senior positions, can apply at any time.

The Quarto Group is the leading global illustrated book publisher and distribution group and is listed on the London Stock Exchange. Combining the might of a major and the creativity of an independent, Quarto creates more than 600 adult and children's books a year. These books are sold by the Quarto Foreign Rights team into more than 45 countries and in more than 35 languages.
