Job description

Trotman Publishing is the UK’s leading careers publisher, creating and publishing inspiring and helpful books and digital resources about careers and Higher Education options for students and professionals. We are looking for an editorial intern to join us to update one of our annual education titles, HEAP 2028: University Degree Course Offers.

HEAP is our best-selling guide to entrance requirements for degree courses and the successful applicant will be responsible for updating book content on a content management system, as instructed by one of the editors at Trotman. Alongside their work on HEAP, the editorial intern will spend approximately one day a week carrying out editorial and administrative support tasks. They will also attend weekly virtual meetings with the wider Trotman team and be invited to attend in-person company meetings.

The ideal candidate will be a recent graduate with excellent written English skills, a keen eye for detail, some experience of text editing and rewriting, and a demonstrable interest in publishing. They will be extremely organised, self-motivated and a great communicator with the ability to manage their time effectively and work independently. They must be able to write clearly and be proactive when researching updates and new information.

This is a remote-working position. The ability to attend in-person meetings in central Reading (close to the train station) approximately once every six weeks is preferred but not essential. You will need your own laptop to complete the internship.
