We have a new entry level position for an editorial assistant to work across our non-fiction list, encompassing history, current affairs and popular science. This would be an ideal position for a young professional who aims to build a career in non-fiction publishing.

Job Description
We are looking for a bright, self-motivated individual with initiative, excellent proofreading and copyediting skills, good general knowledge, strong organisational capabilities, a flair for writing excellent copy, and an interest in serious non-fiction. The ideal candidate will understand the importance of attention to detail at all stages of the publishing process.

You will be working with our non-fiction editors providing support for all aspects of the author–publisher relationship, from contract to finished book, including:
• Liaising with authors and agents 
• Collating edits
• Drafting promotional and marketing copy for titles
• Clearing image and text permissions
• Performing pre-print checks and proofreading copy 
• Soliciting endorsements for new titles
• Maintaining our title database
• Working with other members of the Oneworld team on editorial, design, production, sales, marketing, and publicity issues as required.
